Montana Fun

There is never a lack of things to fill time in our home. Throughout my lifetime, "bored" was never part of our vocabulary. Not only if we used that word, but if we even looked bored, we would immediately have work to do. The tasks we were assigned over the years covered a very broad spectrum, and of course some were much more enjoyable than others.

Resultant from leaving the Philippines early, I had the unexpected opportunity to enjoy a few months at home in Montana. Many of my pastimes were essential, others elective. Some days Phoebe and I were mommy's girls, and other days we were, as one of our visitors put it, "daddy's little boys".

We sewed, cooked, cleaned, embroidered, crocheted, visited, harvested, canned, extended a sprinkler system, logged, tilled, weeded, and the list goes on...

Potatoes from our garden

Plums - one of the many foods harvested this summer

There were many frustrating times throughout our sewing endeavors, but in
spite of the sweat and pain we were able to complete 6 aprons and 2 skirts.

Aprons for our sister-in-law and two nieces

Matching aprons for ourselves

Dehydrated, all-natural, delicious cookies

Apricots

225 quarts of applesauce in 12 hours

Preparation for a nursing job

 Time with family
